INTRO

The goal of the project was to redesign Amplius's website to improve its overall usability and accessibility, with a particular focus on mobile users, who make up over 71.2% of site traffic.

The redesign aimed to create a responsive, mobile-first experience that would allow users to easily find essential information, thereby reducing the volume of support inquiries. Additionally, the project sought to streamline content management, empowering the internal team to update and organise site content independently.

information architecture

I simplified the information architecture by restructuring content and reducing overly text-heavy sections. This made it easier for users to find essential information quickly and navigate the site without unnecessary complexity.

Personas & User Stories

The site needed to serve a diverse group of personas, including new customers, existing tenants, employees, and other stakeholders, each with distinct needs. When designing, I focused on ensuring that the experience catered to everyone—whether it was providing easy access to information for new customers, streamlining resources for employees, or addressing the specific needs of key stakeholders. Balancing these varying requirements was crucial to create a seamless and effective experience for all users.

Made Possible with Qala

Qala, Angry Creative’s ready-made WordPress theme, provided a flexible foundation for Amplius’s redesigned website. During my time at Angry Creative, I contributed to the Qala Design System, a scalable solution for CMS and e-commerce. Given Amplius’s content-heavy site, Qala’s elastic search became a game-changer, delivering super-fast results and allowing users to find information effortlessly.

Additionally, Qala’s block-based library empowered Amplius’s team to design and update content independently, maintaining a consistent look without relying on agency support. This approach not only enhanced efficiency but also significantly improved the user experience by ensuring quick access to relevant information.

Responsive Design

Recognising that 71.2% of visitors accessed the site via mobile, I implemented a mobile-first design to ensure seamless browsing across all devices.

17.4% of users were visiting the contact page because they couldn't find the information they needed. Integrating Qala's elastic search functionality addressed this issue by delivering fast, accurate results, ensuring users could quickly find the information they were looking for.

Improved accessibility standards ensured an inclusive experience for all users, while a user-friendly CMS allowed website administrators to create and manage pages with ease, making updates simpler and reducing reliance on external support.
